One of the best and most affordable* steaks you’ll ever try.

Flat Iron have done what many restaurants dream of, cook simple food that tastes incredible. Their ethos of making great steak accessible to all has meant anyone can enjoy these at anytime. To find out more about their produce, follow this link.
Now to the best part, the dishes we ordered. To compile this list, I’ve combined several trips worth of dishes:
- The Flat Iron steak (medium rare) – £14
- Homemade Beef Dripping Chips – £4
- Roast Aubergine – £4.50
- Truffled Macaroni Cheese – £5.50
- Crispy Bone Marrow Garlic Mash – £4
- Bearnaise sauce – £1
- Peppercorn sauce – £1
- Popcorn – free
- Ice cream – free
One of the best surprises when you arrive is the free beef popcorn. I don’t know how they do it considering popcorn is normally very plain but this packs so much flavour and it’s refillable.
Then comes the main course, I always opt for The Flat Iron Steak, medium rare. It’s cooked to perfection each time, juicy and tender. They give you a knife that looks like a meat cleaver, a nice touch if you ask me. And it doesn’t stop there, the chips are crispy and so tasty, if you don’t believe you’ll just have to try them for yourself 😉
For the sides, the Roasted Aubergine is super creamy and who doesn’t love mac and cheese?!

If you go, I’d recommend sharing the sides as it can be quite filling. Plus, sharing means you can try a lot more of their dishes :p

Now you might be thinking, surely there are better steaks out there? Well that might be true but they always tend to come with a hefty price tag. Overall, Flat Iron has mastered their minimal menu to the point of perfection. So if you’re looking for something simple yet beautifully well done this is the place to try (and keep returning too).
